Kath is an experienced values led leader in local government and community managed organizations. Before joining the MAV Kath worked as Director Community Wellbeing at Banyule City Council after also serving as Director Community Wellbeing at Brimbank City Council.
Kath loves working in partnership, enjoys tackling complex issues and has extensive experience on Boards and Community Committees of Management in a broad range of areas including, First Nations, Gender Equality, libraries, education, health, LGBTIQA+ and urban farming.
Kath is skilled in engaging diverse communities and has a deep passion for social justice and equity and in particular, working to support communities to ensure a fair and sustainable climate transition. Kath has lead projects and system change approaches to preventing men’s violence against women and children and working with diverse and complex communities, including First Nations Communities.
Kath operates from a feminist perspective and take an intersectional lens to complex issues and as a strategic and innovative thinker Kath creates impact through collaboration, partnerships and co design that are outcomes focused.
Kath also brings lived experience of the LGBTQIA+ community
Kath’s formal education includes Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Arts (Social Policy). Kath is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
